About this course
When a pupil's eating worries you, you want help to come quickly. A referral that's missing key details, or goes to the wrong place, can slow that down.
You'll know what the CAMHS team needs to judge urgency: up-to-date contact details, current height and weight, how fast weight has been lost, food intake, other health concerns and how daily life is affected. A quick phone call before you send it tells you which form to use and where it goes, and getting to know your local team before you need them makes every referral easier.
Routine eating disorder cases should start treatment within four weeks, and urgent ones within a week, so you'll know when to chase. BEAT's help finder points you to local services, and school still has a part to play while a young person waits.
- For early career teachers, mental health leads and 5 other roles. Secondary.
