About this course
The staff who spend most time with a school's most vulnerable children often have the least training for it. What's on offer tends to be a counselling course, which doesn't fit the role, or a string of one-off sessions on anxiety, ADHD or behaviour. This session sets out another route: Ofqual-regulated qualifications in therapeutic skills at levels 2, 3 and 5, written for people working in schools. Along the way you'll pick up some of what they teach. Children learn to co-regulate with an adult long before they can calm themselves. Shame often shows up as lying, denying and blaming. And there's a clear line between a therapeutic response, which you can give, and therapy. It's presented by a psychotherapist who helped design the qualifications, so you can judge whether one of them is the right next step for you.
- For early career teachers, middle leaders and 4 other roles. All phases. England only.
