About this course
When your child doesn't sleep, nobody in the house does. Children with SEND are far more likely to have sleep problems, and the tiredness shows up in the day as meltdowns, tears, a child who can't sit still or can't face school.
No single bedtime routine suits every child, so the approach here starts with the cause. It might be a noise the rest of you can't hear, light at the wrong time, hunger after daytime medication, or an after-school nap. Then you can start small. A sleep diary shows when your child really falls asleep, so you can plan bedtime back from that time and move it earlier in small steps. A sleepy supper can replace the hot chocolate and biscuit.
It's taught by a national sleep charity, whose founder was a SENCO before her own son's sleepless nights set her on this path.
