About this course
Some afternoons you can see it on their faces: are we nearly there yet? And some afternoons you're thinking the same thing.
These ideas come from a primary teacher who has worked in five schools and wanted a room where children believe they can do it and enjoy getting there. Mistakes get a new name, with a Friday "writing casualty department" and work that just isn't "easy yet". A Champions moment lets a child march to the front and share a breakthrough, and agreed listening levels mean you can ask for "30 walking ants" instead of shouting for quiet.
None of it is meant as extra work. Pick the one or two that suit your class, and let go of something that isn't working to make room.
- For early career teachers and teachers. Primary and secondary.
