About this course

If you drive or escort pupils, you carry more personal data than you might think. There's the route sheet with home addresses, the risk assessment listing a child's medical needs, the parent who mentions a change at home. GDPR covers all of it, written down or not.

This GDPR training for school transport staff explains what counts as personal data on the route, and why health, SEND and family details need extra care. It works through situations you'll recognise. A pupil asks about the child sitting next to them. A parent at the pick-up point wants to know who else is in the taxi. You'd love to post a photo of a nice moment on the route.

If something does go wrong, you'll know to tell your manager straight away. Some breaches have to be reported to the Information Commissioner's Office within 72 hours, so don't wait and see.

  • For support staff. All phases.
