About this course
You've been made mental health lead and asked for an action plan. Before you can write one that works, you need to know where things stand now with your leaders, your staff, your pupils, your parents and your curriculum.
This course shows you how to find out. You'll learn to write a staff survey people trust enough to answer honestly, with a comments box under each yes-or-no question so you learn why. You'll see how an inclusive pupil focus group can shape a whole-school survey, and how to check whether the staff teaching mental health in PSHE have been trained to keep themselves safe doing it. A parents' evening with local support services can bring parents on side, too.
It's taught by a mental health lead who did all of this in a secondary school of 1,400 pupils, and the notes for each area are there to download.
- For governors and mental health leads. Primary and secondary.
