About this course
A learner who is overwhelmed can look calm. Their face goes still and they seem to relax, when really they've switched off. Reading signs like that is the first step. The second is giving them more ways to bounce back.
A lot of that happens in the wider community. You'll find ideas for relaxed and multi-sensory theatre, walks planned around a single sense, accessible nature trails and beaches, and music chosen to bring out a range of feelings, not only happy ones. There's practical help for when a favourite carer moves on, such as a sensory scrapbook to remember them by, and a breathing exercise that uses a strong smell like peppermint.
The presenter is a special school teacher and complementary therapist who lives with anxiety herself, and there's plenty here for your own wellbeing as well.
- For early career teachers, mental health leads and 3 other roles. All phases.
