About this course

A class team for learners with PMLD might include teachers, TAs, a nurse, physios and speech and language therapists, all working with the same young people. When communication slips or morale drops, it's the learners who feel it first.

This webinar draws on a special school team in South Wales that hasn't lost a member of staff since 2020. You'll see how they spot and use each person's strengths, from the TA who used to be a hairdresser to the colleague who has been at the school since the 1980s. There's practical advice on clear roles, on keeping communication consistent when therapists and class staff work side by side, and on making time for a laugh together.

If you lead a team, there are ideas on vision and morale too, including a half-termly team session with a counsellor to talk through what's been hard.

  • For early career teachers, middle leaders and 4 other roles. All phases.
