About this course
By the time a one-off puberty lesson comes round in the summer of Year 6, some of your pupils started the changes months ago. Better to plan teaching that builds from Year 4 (or earlier, if your pupils need it) towards the RSHE outcomes for the end of primary, and this course shows you how.
You'll find out what your class already knows with a brainstorm on a body outline, then teach with activities children enjoy. A bag of real puberty products gives you bingo, sorting games and desert island choices, and boys are often the most curious about the sanitary products. Pupils design puberty emojis and use them to reply to texts from worried children.
It's taught by an RSHE specialist with more than 20 years' experience, and there are simple ways to check what's been learned without a written test.
