About this course

Talk about staff wellbeing tends to focus on stress and mental health. Your body matters just as much, because too little sleep and too little movement wear down how well you cope with everything else.

This session, from a former PE teacher who still runs with a club, keeps it simple. There are three kinds of exercise worth building into a week (mobility, strength and cardio) and five other things that affect your physical wellbeing, including sleep, stress and diet. You'll score yourself on all eight with an analysis wheel, then pick one to three to work on.

There's plenty of plain advice on sticking with it. Plan exercise into your week, choose something you enjoy, don't spend a fortune on kit before you know you like it, and stop comparing yourself with friends who run marathons. You'll finish with goals for the next week, three months and year.

  • For early career teachers, governors and 6 other roles. All phases.
