About this course

It's often a small change that tells you something's wrong. Someone who's usually chatty goes quiet, stops doing the things they enjoy, or needs a lot more reassurance than usual. It's easy to spot and much harder to know what to do about.

A simple model helps. On the mental health continuum, everyone moves between healthy, coping, struggling and unwell, and you'll learn what pushes people down it and what helps them stay well. You'll also learn the early warning signs and how to respond when you see them. Stay calm, validate before you correct, and listen properly rather than asking "why?".

You'll also come away knowing about Hub of Hope, which finds support near any postcode.
