About this course
Plenty of people in schools get up, get through the day and wait for the weekend. Lunch is five minutes at a desk, if that, and the to-do list never gets shorter.
Start by noticing where your energy is, then do something about it. You'll learn a slow tummy-breathing technique that calms you down, and how to sort tasks into urgent and important with the Eisenhower matrix. There are three habits of resilient people to borrow: choosing what gets your attention, accepting that some days go wrong, and being kind to yourself. One school cut lesson plans from seven pages to two and banned work talk in the staff room.
The ideas come from a former headteacher and local authority adviser who still teaches one day a week, and knows how long a school day feels. There's a pocket origami wellbeing book to keep.
- For early career teachers, governors and 7 other roles. All phases.
