About this course
On supply, you can walk into a building you've never seen, full of children you don't know, and within minutes one of them tells you something you have to act on. You might not yet know who the DSL is, let alone how to reach them.
Before you take responsibility for a single child, there are six things to find out in your first 30 minutes on site. You'll know exactly what they are. You'll get the KCSIE 2026 changes that affect you directly, including reading Part one in full now that the shorter Annex A has gone, and specific advice for SEN, primary and secondary settings.
Your fresh eyes are an advantage. You'll notice the child who's cold in a summer dress in December, where staff who see her every day may have stopped seeing it.
- For supply staff. Primary, secondary and special. England only.
