About this course
Hours at a desk or on the sofa soon add up, and it's easy to put off exercise until there's time to do it properly. You don't need a gym to start.
This course explains what moving more does for you beyond weight and fitness. It helps with stress and low mood, and being active in the morning can help you sleep better that night. You'll find out how much is enough, working towards the NHS guideline of 150 minutes a week, or starting with a 10-minute walk if you're doing very little now. What counts is anything that gets your heart beating faster and leaves you a bit warm, so vigorous hoovering and digging the garden both qualify.
There's also advice on eating the right fuel, and why a gentle stroll with an elderly dog might not quite be enough.
- For all school staff. All phases.
