About this collection

Most staff know to take a concern to the DSL. The harder part is seeing the concern in the first place, when it looks like a pupil who keeps disappearing for a few days, a new pair of trainers nobody can explain, or a child staying with a family friend.

This pathway covers the forms of harm that hide in plain sight. You'll learn the signs of criminal and sexual exploitation, including county lines, and why a child who seems to have agreed is still a victim. You'll know when missing education is a warning sign, when a mental health worry is also a safeguarding one, and what the 28-day rule means for private fostering. Rarer harms, such as FGM and fabricated or induced illness, are covered too.

Every course ends in the same place: knowing what to do next, and taking it straight to your DSL.
